Question Title Controlling TV Power via HDMI from QIP 62000
I want to control the TV power at the same time as I switch on/off the Fios QIP 6200 set top box.

I can't use the switched outlet on the set top box because the TV (Sony 32S3000) has a 3-prong power plug.

Can I setup the box to switch the TV Power on/off via the HDMI connection ?

According to he Sony manual this should be possible but does not seem to work.

Although this was a while ago and im sure you have since fixed it. You would not need to do this through HDMI. All you should be doing is using the Master Power from the VZ remote or whatever remote you may be using to control all systems. You really dont want to use the power plug in the back of your STB anyways as it will just be more likely that you will draw too much from the box and cause it to freeze and then have to have it reset, plug it directly to a surge protector to keep it safe. Using the remote will not do it at the EXACT same time as it has to send the command one by one, but it will but just a one button use for you. If you are that picky though, use your hands to turn them off at the same time, lol.
